What we do in Africa
VIS Foundation has been working in many African countries for years helping to keep open hosting centers, orphanages, medical centers and schools from which benefit several thousand families in some of the poorest areas of the continent. From Nigeria, where VIS collaborates in the construction of free schools to the remote island of Madagascar, where it helps to maintain a network of free schools scattered throughout the island, passing through Uganda, Kenia, Ruanda, Tanzania, Camerún or the D. R. of Congo.
SOME OF OUR PROJECTS IN AFRICA
"Village of Joy" (Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania)
This center hosts more than 120 orphans and more than 700 students from an extremely poor area plagued by malaria and the lack of drinking water.
"Cité des Jeunes de Nazareth" (Kigali, Rwanda)
The centre welcomes more than 600 children orphaned, abandoned or coming from one of the most deprived areas of the country, suffering from poverty and AIDS.
Scholarship Program "Tabaka Mission Hospital" (Kissi, Kenya)
We financed a scholarship program to enable young girls from poor families to study nursing, in an area where more than half of the population suffers from AIDS.
"Schools of Manina" (Nosy-Be, Madagascar)
A network of schools hosting thousands of children and young people in an extremely poor area. These free schools are the only way for the population to enable their children to study.
"Mulagi Vocational Training Institute" (Uganda)
Our scholarship program allows 10 young girls to study in this training center where more than 200 girls study.
"St. Peters School Harga" (Katsina Ala, Nigeria)
This school, founded in 2014, started with 90 students, and already welcomes more than 220. We are building new classrooms to accommodate more children, since there are no more schools in the area.
