Name, Motto and Logo
Feed, care, educate.
OUR LOGO
The logo of VIS Foundation has a green background, the color of hope. The three stylized figures in different colors represent children of all races of the world, and are on a hand that, closing, wants to signify hosting, protection and care; three words that speak of solidarity. The open book is the roof of the house, wanting to represent that assistance must be accompanied by education, a fundamental instrument for growth and development.
OUR SLOGAN
Feed, Care, Educate.
VIS Foundation mission is to educate children and give them the necessary tools to build their own future. This is often not possible due to the difficulty that in order to study, children need to meet more basic needs, usually guaranteeing their food, health care and a family or a home. For this reason, VIS Foundation takes care of children, in this order, nutrition, care and educating children wherever they are in need.
OUR CLAIM
The power of charity!
VIS in Latin means 'strength'. It is the union of charity of many people, understood as love and solidarity, which gives us that strength that leads us to continue helping all the children around the world day after day who need our work to aim for a full and happy life .
OUR NAME
Villaggio for International Solidarity
The word "VIS" stands for “Villaggio for International Solidarity”. It wants to indicate that the world has truly become a global "Villaggio" (village, town) and that all men, even the most distant, are our brothers. To underline this concept, the word “International” invites us to create bridges and not to build walls, thus overcoming ethnic or racial exclusivity and prejudice, in the common search for peace and progress for all peoples. On the other hand, "Solidarity" clearly defines our mission: the promotion and consolidation of solidarity among people, activating projects in favor of those who suffer the most from marginalization, poverty and any form of social discrimination. Finally, “Villaggio” is written in Italian to demonstrate the national identity of the country in which our foundation was born and from where it has successively spread to the various continents over the world.
