A chicken coop to improve children's nutrition at an orphanage in Rwanda.
The "Cité des Jeunes" school and orphanage, built to house 600 children after the terrible genocide in Rwanda, has asked us to fund the construction of a chicken coop. Currently, the children eat rice and beans almost every day of the year. We can help!
With our help, they will be able to eat eggs and meat twice a week.
Help us to achieve it.
600 poor and orphaned children in one of the poorest countries in the world
It was built in 1995 to house the orphans of the 1994 genocide.
The Cité des Jeunes (Youth City) center is home to more than 200 children and is the only school available to another 400 children from poor families in the surrounding area. With very few staff and a great deal of hard work, this center is a fundamental element for the future of this community located about 100 km from Kigali, the capital of Rwanda. For years, we have run a sponsorship program to help maintain the school.
When we visited them, we discovered they were eating rice and beans every day, and when we asked, they confirmed they could barely get any more food due to a lack of funds. We suggested building a chicken coop that would provide them with eggs and meat sustainably and autonomously, and they were enthusiastic about the idea. The problem is, we need to raise almost €5,000 to build it. You can help us!
With €5,000, we'll cover the construction, the purchase of the animals, and maintenance for the first six months. We need your help now! Join us to improve the lives and health of 600 children whose lives have been difficult. You are their hope!
